F words

Last night I heard my dog whining downstairs. Unusual, since he’d usually be asleep by that time. So I went down to see what the fuss was about, and it seemed the cat had taken over his bed. A good reason for distress if I ever heard one. It made me think of my own bed, and how we haven’t been spending as much time together as I’d like, due to anime and job searching currently taking priority in my life. And I decided there and then that things had to change. After all, you never know when you might end up losing YOUR bed…

Try using that as an excuse the next time you oversleep for something. I know I will.

Today was the second day of my Skills for Work course, and I didn’t get much of a chance to do anything else all day. So although the stuff we covered wasn’t quite as fun as yesterday, I’ll talk about it anyway.

One of the activities was called ‘How well does your brain work when you are stressed?’ A good question, I thought, can’t wait to test this out. Except that being in a nice, well lit, comfortably warm room with a cup of tea at your side isn’t the most stressful of settings TBH. The booklet included a load of optical illusions, which my supposedly stressed mind had no problems with. But there was one test that threw me completely – count the number of ‘F’s in the following text:

Having read that at least twice, I came out with an answer of “3”. If that’s what you got, go back and have another look. If not, apparently you’re a genius!
