I usually like to have these end of year posts up in the first week of December, but have found myself short on time this year. Mostly because I just started a new job, and these first two weeks (plus the mad rush beforehand to finish as many anime series and games as possible while still unemployed) have been pretty intensive… However, the work also involves a lot of travelling by bus, giving me more time to listen to anime music than ever before! And here are some of the latest and greatest additions to my playlist, my Top 12 OPs of 2015~
As ever, Youtube links (to the TV version of the song with animation where available) are in the titles, so you can sing along, or judge me for my poor taste as usually happens.
To start us off, a cute happy song to go with a cute happy series… 😦
The band also gave the dance a good live action effort!
Of all the many OP themes sung by the series’ main seiyuu, I found Hito ni Yasashiku the most catchy. I love the accompanying animation too~
Though I preferred the ED themes for Rokka, this second OP has gotten plenty of plays since the Summer as well.
There’s always one every year that makes me wonder, did this only make the list because it’s currently airing? Definitely one of my fave Autumn OPs, hopefully it’ll stand the test of time.
WHAT’S WITH THE ALL-CAPS IN JAPANESE BAND NAMES? Anyway, I like this song enough to forgive the incorrect use of ‘your’ in the official OP lyrics. 😛
all lowercase, a nice change! Quite the drop from the #1 spot held by the first series’ OP last year, but still brilliant.
Definitely not just on the list because it’s currently airing, this is very much my kind of music! 😀
Placing in exactly the same position as the first series’ OP, also by WHITE ASH, did in 2013).
I don’t usually put two songs by the same artists in the same list, but in this case I decided they were both too good to leave out.
BRADIO also gets a double! Death Parade certainly had the best combination of fun music and brilliant animation sequence… but ultimately, my fave OP of the year is:
By far the song that I’ve played the most outside of actually watching the show… and probably the only time you’ll see Seraph at the top of any list of mine. 😛
So that’s one half of what I’ve been listening to this year! My Top ED themes will follow… at some point…
