Hello, and a belated Happy New Year to everyone. 😀 Hope these first three days have been good ones. 😛 Myself, I was feeling pretty good and optimistic… until I found out that the price of Kobato (a series I started collecting this Christmas) volume 5 has shot up to about £80. I swear I checked out the prices of every volume in early December before committing to buy! Oh, and I’ll likely be out of a job come February. But compared to the manga issue, that’s nothing. Even if it means I’ll have less money to spend on manga. Priorities – who needs them?
And as is equally traditional, I present my anime GARem of 2012!
As it’s something of a tradition at this point, I present my anime harem of 2012! A chance for me to show some appreciation for a small sample of my favorite anime characters of the year. In a lot of cases, characters can be more important in deciding my favorite series than the plot itself, while in others they have proven to be a show’s sole redeeming factor. So, making the list this year are:
With most of the Autumn series now approaching their ends, or at least their halfway points, I finally feel confident enough to compose my Top 12 anime list for 2012! Which, like last year, I’ll be doing as part of kidd’s Ani-Bloggers Choice Anime Awards. Basically, that means this list, along with the lists of any other anime bloggers who’re taking part, will be used to calculate an overall top 12… which last year ended up looking nothing like my personal list. 😛
The rules state that each anime series in my list gets one point, with my number 1 show of the year getting an additional bonus point. You’d think that would make things easier for me, since the order of the other eleven shows doesn’t matter so much, but it’s actually made me even more critical – if my number 12 series is going to get the same number of points from me as my second favorite, it has to be good enough to deserve it!
In case anyone noticed the ‘Kaiji’ and ‘Mirai Nikki tags in my previous post on OPs… I’m sorry, I got lazy and copied the 2011 post, then (aside from correcting the year) forgot to edit the rest of the tags. 😮
Anyhow, continuing from before, here’s a list of my favorite ending themes of the year! A slightly easier list to put together, as opening themes tend to be more upbeat, fun and memorable, but there’s plenty of good EDs out there too, as I hope this post will remind people. 🙂
It begins! As before, the first of my many traditional end-of-year posts is a list of what I consider to be 2012’s greatest anime opening themes, only this time there will be 12 instead of 1o – I figured that since my upcoming ACAA list will consist of my top 12 anime titles, I may as well keep to the same format for my non-meta posts. 🙂
I always find the OPs and EDs a fun place to start. Also, since most shows keep to the same themes for at least one season, I don’t have to put as much thought into this as I do with my things like my ACAA list, where my opinions on ongoing series continue to change on a weekly basis.
In which I decide which five anime I’ll be keeping on this season! It pained me to drop so many promising new shows in the first round, and the casualties this time will be even harder to bear… but I can always go back to them if/when my internet is sorted out. 😛 Until then, five series will have to do. The extra free time might even convince me to get back to my huge backlog of older series, as I’ve only really watched ongoing anime since starting my job!
