Winter 2024 End of Season Rankings

With the exception of a few standouts, winter 2024 was a very mediocre anime season. That, or I made poor choices when deciding what to skip, who knows? My lineup stayed the same as mid-season, March was a busy month that left me no time to pick up anything extra, nor did I drop anything this time. Here are my final (aside from for the ongoing Dungeon Meshi) thoughts on them all!

Spring 2024’s anime lineup looks incredible, especially when it comes to sequels and reboots… to the extent that I’ve not got much room in my lineup for the all-new titles! So once again, I turn to my blog readers for help narrowing things down.

Here are three anime that interest me, but didn’t quite make the cut due to the strength of their competition. But one more won’t hurt! Vote for your favourite, and I’ll squeeze the winner in somehow.

Yes, I skipped a season with these polls… though my winter list did feature the continuation of past winner Synduality Noir!

Winter 2024 Mid-Season Rankings

Another year, another season, another anime list~ Not a big one; winter 2024 didn’t have much that caught my interest, and while on one hand I’ve managed to avoid picking up anything bad for a change, on the other only a small number truly excite me.

Anyway, here they are, and let me know in the comments if I’ve overlooked something amazing. 🙂

Time for my final post about 2023’s anime! Or final planned post, at least, maybe I’ll find some reason to revisit the year in future, I certainly skipped enough series to be able to do it all again. 😛

Here are my top 12 series from last year (that have fully finished airing), along with a few honourable mentions, and some series I definitely want to give another look at some point.

Autumn 2023 End of Season Rankings

Pretty much all the winter anime have now aired, and (I think) I’ve got a lineup I’m happy with! But that can wait for a future post, this one’s my final thoughts on autumn’s offerings.

Due to having internet speed issues from late November to mid December, I fell several weeks behind, and ended up dropping Goblin Slayer II, Paradox Live the Animation & Shy to focus on catching up with the rest.

2023 Anime – Top 12 ED Themes

A belated Happy New Year to all my blog readers~ But as usual, I’m far from done with 2023 yet. In addition to this ending theme list, I’ve got my final autumn season thoughts and my overall top anime of the year left to put together – hopefully I’ll find time for all that this month, while it’s still fairly fresh in my mind!

Again, this entirely subjective list of my favourite ED themes is limited to those from anime series that I watched in full (or that I’m up to date with and plan to finish, if they’re still ongoing). Even then, I had to leave out a bunch that I really like. Please do share your own favourites in the comments!

2023 Anime – Top 12 OP Themes

Oops, where did December go!? Weeks of internet connectivity issues, followed by weeks of catching up with all most of the autumn anime I’d fallen behind on, then general Christmas stuff led me to keep putting off my end of year blog posts.

As usual, I’ll start with a list of my favourite OP themes for series that aired this year, limited to anime that I watched to completion or have kept up with; it’s highly likely I’ve missed out on some good themes for any anime that I didn’t watch, so please do share your own favourites in the comments! 😀 And / or judge me for my taste in music. 😛

Autumn 2023 Mid-Season Rankings

Are we really half way through the season already? I don’t want most of these series to end, this lineup is so much better than summer’s! As usually happens when I’m spoilt for choice, I picked up more anime than I usually would; even then, I had to skip a lot that I was interested in. But, this seems to be just the right amount for me to keep up with each week. 🙂

I guess I should give a special mention to the one big autumn series that isn’t on my list: I skipped Sousou no Frieren because I’m already reading the manga, and wanted to focus on stories that were all new to me, as gorgeous as that adaptation looks. Very much one that I’m planning to go back to, no need to recommend it – but please do recommend (or warn me against!) anything else I haven’t covered here!

Summer 2023 End of Season Rankings

I thought this season was never going to end – who gave Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai suru permission to be 15 episodes long!? 😛 I’m not waiting for Zom 100‘s finale since there’s no date on the horizon, so we’ll make do with what we’ve got.
