Spring 2024 series poll closed!

April 7, 2024

Thank you to all who voted in last week’s poll, which received more votes than any that I’ve previously run! Very much a two horse race, with the leader changing more than once throughout the week. The final result:

Summer 2023 series poll closed!

July 5, 2023

Thank you to all who voted in last week’s poll! Looked like we were going to have a three way tie for a minute there, but one series pulled ahead in the end:

Poll closed! I think?

April 8, 2023

Thank you to all who voted in last week’s poll! I’m not sure whether I’ve managed to close it properly or not, still wrapping my head around the new ‘Crowd Signal’ site WordPress is using for polls, but either way I’m going with the result as it is now, no further votes will be counted. The winner:

We have a tie…

August 15, 2020

Thank you to the five people who voted in my series poll~ We have a tie, but fortunately not a five-way one, otherwise I might have had to go back on my word about not taking a year to post the reviews. 😛 Read the rest of this entry »

Another poll closed!

February 17, 2019

Many thanks to everyone who voted in last week’s series poll! 😀 Nice to see that each series got at least one vote, but the winner with three is Brain Powerd!

Here’s hoping for some great sci-fi/mech action, nice character designs, decent character personalities, and a vaguely coherent plot? 😛 I’ll make a start on it today~

We have a winner!

July 14, 2018

Many thanks to everyone who voted in my second series poll of the year~ It was interesting watching the positions changing over the last fortnight, as the two series that started off in the lead ended up in last place, while the series that initially brought up the rear ended up winning. That series was Kyouryuu Tankentai Born Free!

As before, I’ll hold back any real comments until I’ve watched and reviewed it, but I will say that I’m looking forward to seeing 2D anime and stop motion / practical effects combined. Should be quite the experience, regardless of how good or bad the plot ends up being. 😀

Poll Closed~

January 29, 2018

Many thanks to everyone who voted to decide my next anime series – it looked VERY close for a while, and I was predicting another tie, but in the end Mahou no Stage Fancy Lala won outright by a couple of points!

I won’t comment on the series in detail until I’ve finished it and posted my review here, but I did watch the first five episodes during a train journey yesterday, and I’d say it is off to a good start. 🙂

Pretear, Koi Kaze & Kanon – My Thoughts

July 26, 2012

Nope, I’m not quite dead yet. 😛

At the end of May I posted a poll asking readers to choose which series (out of a shortlist of six) I should watch next. When the poll ended with two shows tied for first place, and a third series close behind, I decided I’d watch all three. Well, it took the best part of two months, but as I finished Kanon a few days ago, I thought I’d share my thoughts on them all. 🙂

Poll Closed – Thanks for Voting!

June 14, 2012

The poll to decide which series I’d end up watching next has now closed… with no clear winner. At the end of the first day of voting, all six were tied for first with one vote, which was a little worrying! That didn’t last long though, as two series started to pull away from the rest of the group. They were neck-in-neck for virtually the whole fortnight, and were still tied at the end. They are Pretear and Koi Kaze.
